Ballerinas from the Paris Opera performed a piece from Swan Lake on Tuesday, in protest of the French government’s pension reform plan. Twenty-seven ballet dancers took to the steps of the Opéra Garnier in Paris on Christmas Eve (24 December) to revolt against plans to scrap their special pension scheme, which currently allows them to retire at the age of 42.

The Paris Opera Ballet, a source of inspiration Many artists have drawn inspiration from these ballerinas and ballet dancers with their flowing, ethereal movements and unimpeachable technique. A trip to the Palais Garnier, whether to see the opera, the ballet, or simply take a tour, is an absolute must. I went on a whim, and it was one of the best things I did in my 3 months in Paris. The building is absolutely stunning and definitely worth a trip. Of course the allure of the Paris Ballet is the famous Garnier Opera house, now used mostly for ballet. Lisa got us excellent seats near the center of the second balcony.
